About Us
Full Moon Bonsai, started 25 years ago as a hobby that turned into a passion and love of an ancient art form. We are on a mission to bring this spectacular art form back to the Charleston area with its unique location, growing season and Charleston’s love of formal and varied gardens.
William and JoAnn Ferguson hope to demystify and nurture this ancient art form, by gathering like minds in the pursuits that is the "art of bonsai".
Our hope is to continue to grow and offer a variety of plants for bonsai by providing both group instruction and personal guidance through customer service and advice on plant selection and propagation, custom soil mixes and resources. We look forward to growing with you.
Where We Are
Full Moon Bonsai is currently located out of our home in Summerville, South Carolina 30-40 minutes outside Charleston. We do not have a retail store but accept visitors by appointment only. We are in the process of expanding our nursery and propagation to increase the variety and availability without the customer having to order from internet.

THE BASICS OF BONSAI

Caring for a bonsai tree is not nearly as difficult as often thought. Spend an hour or so of Zen with bonsai enthusiast Bill Ferguson as he walks you through the basics of this ancient and delicate practice by covering selection, shaping, watering, fertilizing, repotting and other important guidelines for your ultimate bonsai experience. Beginners are encouraged and welcome! Going out of town? We can now offer plant sitting for a limited number of plants.
